Karelle Vignon-Vullierme (@karellevv), is a young woman living since 2012 in Dakar, the Senegalese capital. Of Beninese origin, she was born on March 21, 1987 in Paris, France. Trained as a journalist, she is now a food blogger and has been for around 7 years.

Who's the person you've always admired, from your youth to the present day?
I'd say my mother, but it wasn't until I was in my teens that I realized how strong and great she was. Otherwise, the person I admire “Since Day 1” is Oprah Winfrey.
A moment in high school or college that changed your life.
College especially, but meeting my husband at university.
What's your favourite meal?
Anything with chocolate!
What's your favorite musical artist?
Missy Elliott, since the day I discovered her. Ever since I was young, I've really identified with her style, her lyrics and her attitude.
What's the best book you've read recently?
I often re-read classics, the latest being “Une si longue lettre” by Mariama Bâ.
What's your favourite film?
Paul Haggis' Collision (Crash) if I have to answer to a judgmental audience, but my favorite movie in the world is Disney's Mulan.

Your favourite fictional heroine or hero and why?
Mulan! She fought to liberate her country by pretending to be something she wasn't. But I'd still have liked Mulan to be about an African woman! Still, I would have liked Mulan to be the story of an African woman!
