Inside OA: Alain FOKOU

Artistic Director & Graphic Designer at Omenkart

What is your role at Omenkart?

My role within the agency is to translate the customer's message into images, while respecting the graphic charter. As well as designing, it's also my job to supervise all graphic creations and, of course, to manage the team of graphic designers, illustrators and photographers so as to meet the customer's requirements as closely as possible.

As a graphic designer, what types of projects have you worked on before?
Omenkart?

Before Omenkart, I was a freelancer.
From visual design for social networks, through the creation of visual identities and branding, to the design of film posters and album covers for artists etc... These are just some of the projects I've worked on.

What else have you learned since joining Omenkart?

Since joining Omenkart, I've acquired a variety of knowledge and skills. I've become familiar with the products and services offered by the agency's customers. I've learned to work as part of a team, which has enabled me to collaborate with talented colleagues and learn new ways of working. All in all, my experience at Omenkart has been enriching and formative.

What do you like best about your job?

What I love most about my job is the opportunity to put my creative ideas to work for our customers and meet their needs.

What's your best memory?

When the logo project for a client not satisfied elsewhere came to the agency, the boss expressed confidence in our ability to rise to the challenge. With Boris, the former DA, in the lead, I was given the weighty responsibility of creating a visual identity for this client (a major group and leader in its field). Despite my initial doubts, I succeeded in designing a logo that perfectly sums up the client's business, and which is now widely used in their communications. I'm proud of the result and grateful to the agency for its confidence.
